Prepared to Protect is a free, hands-on women's self-defense seminar focused on situational awareness, personal safety, creating distance, recognizing danger, and practical techniques for escaping threatening situations.
The purpose of this class is not to teach participants how to "win a fight." The goal is to provide practical knowledge, options, and skills that may help you avoid danger, respond effectively when necessary, and get home safely.
Space is limited. Registration is required.

Age requirement: Participants must be 18 years of age or older to attend this class.

Please do not include information you are uncomfortable sharing. Participants are never required to disclose person experiences in order to attend.

Physical Participation

This seminar may include voluntary hands-on activities such as movement, defensive positioning, striking techniques, escape techniques, and other physical self-defense exercises.

Participant Acknowledgement

Photography & Media

Wyoming Bail Agency may photograph or record portions of the event for educational, promotional, or community-outreach purposes. May we use photographs or video in which my be identifiable?

Participant Release & Assumption of Risk

Prepared to Protect includes optional hands-on self-defense instruction and physical activities. While reasonable precautions will be taken to promote a safe training environment, participation in physical activity carries inherent risks, including the possibility of accidental injury.

Before participating, please carefully review the following Release and Assumption of Risk. By signing, you acknowledge that you understand the nature of the activities, voluntarily choose to participate, and agree to the terms stated below. Voluntary Participation

I understand that Prepared to Protect is a voluntary self-defense and personal-safety seminar that may include physical movement, defensive positioning, striking techniques, escape techniques, partner exercises, demonstrations, and other hands-on activities.

I understand that I may decline to participate in any exercise, stop participating at any time, or observe any portion of the class.

Assumption of Risk

I understand that physical self-defense training involves inherent risks. These risks may include, but are not limited to, falls, collisions, contact with other participants or training equipment, muscle strains, sprains, bruises, soreness, and other accidental injuries.

I understand that Wyoming Bail Agency, the instructor, and the host facility cannot eliminate all risks associated with physical training.

Knowing these risks, I voluntarily choose to participate and assume the risks ordinarily associated with the activities in which I choose to participate.

Release and Waiver of Liability

In consideration for being permitted to participate in this free seminar, I voluntarily release, waive, and discharge Nobs Inc. dba Wyoming Bail Agency, the Wyoming Bail Agency Victims Advocacy Project, Damien Cortez, the host facility, and their respective owners, officers, employees, agents, instructors, and volunteers from claims arising from bodily injury, property damage, or other loss sustained as a result of my participation in the seminar, including claims resulting from the ordinary negligence of a released party, to the fullest extent permitted by Wyoming law.

This release does not waive claims that cannot lawfully be waived, including claims arising from willful or wanton misconduct.

Participant Responsibility

I understand that I am responsible for participating within my own abilities and limitations. I agree to stop participating in an activity if I experience pain, dizziness, unusual discomfort, or otherwise believe that continuing would be unsafe.

I understand that no self-defense technique, training program, instructor, or organization can guarantee my personal safety or the outcome of an actual encounter. The information and techniques presented during this seminar are provided for educational and personal-safety purposes.

Emergency Assistance

If I become injured or experience a medical emergency during the seminar, I authorize the instructor, Wyoming Bail Agency personnel, facility personnel, or others present to contact emergency medical services when reasonably believed necessary.

I understand that I remain responsible for any medical expenses resulting from treatment provided to me.

Acknowledgment

I acknowledge that: I am 18 years of age or older; I have had the opportunity to read this Release and Assumption of Risk before participating; I understand that this document affects legal rights, including my ability to bring certain claims; I understand that participation is voluntary and that I may choose not to participate in any activity; and I voluntarily agree to the terms of this Release and Assumption of Risk.
